All of the garments are individually handmade by Liz, in her sewing studio, at her home in Berkshire. Great care is taken to ensure that the clothes are well made using professional techniques & finishes so that your garment will look beautiful for longer & so that you will be able to pass them on to younger siblings or friends.

We prefer to use natural fabrics like cotton, linen & wool. These materials are all durable, easy to care for and breathable so very comfortable for little ones to wear. The fabrics are sourced from reputable UK small businesses, some are repurposed from other garments and projects, and some amazing vintage pieces have been found at a local needlework charity. Fabrics are pre-washed in a non biological detergent, before cutting out garment pieces, to avoid any disappointing shrinkage later (as long as the garment is laundered in accordance with the instructions provided)

Ready to ship items will be posted within 2 working days. Made to order items may take up to 2-3 weeks depending on how busy we are. If you need a made to order item sooner please contact us & we will do our best to help if we can. Garments are individually made, or created in small batches, to avoid fabric wastage. We are very much about slow fashion & this sometimes includes the speed at which a garment can be created too.

We care about our beautiful world & try & reduce the impact our business has on the environment as much as we can. All of our items are safely & attractively packaged using recycled or recyclable materials.

We don’t currently offer shipping outside of the UK. This is a conscious choice to reduce the environmental impact of transporting our garments to long distance destinations.

Any of our items can be sent as a gift to an alternative UK address. Your order will be attractively packaged & can include a personal gift message. Just let us know at check out if you would like to take advantage of this option.

It is recommended that you use the size charts when selecting a size, rather than relying on age, to ensure that a garment will fit. However we understand that sometimes you may change your mind or wish to choose a different garment or size. We are very happy to accept returns as long as the item is received back unworn & in resalable condition. Please let us know that you would like to return an item & we will refund the purchase price as soon as it is back with us. Please refer to our Returns & Exchanges policy.

You most certainly can with our e-Gift cards. We offer gift cards in a range of preselected amounts or you can choose your own custom amount. To purchase a gift card simply navigate to this page, choose your amount, enter your recipients email address, add a message and complete your purchase. They will receive their Happy Hedgehogs gift card directly into their inbox.

Custom orders are welcomed & we enjoy working with a client to create an individual piece that is well-fitting & unique. If you have an idea for a garment we would love to discuss it with you. Children are all different shapes & sizes & all of our designs can be adjusted to fit. Maybe you need trousers that are a bit longer or a waistband a bit smaller? Get in touch & we can make sure that your little one has clothes that are perfect just for them.
