The shoes have elastic around the heel to keep them on wriggly feet and are fully lined with no exposed seams that may irritate delicate skin. The rounded uppers allow plenty of space for toes to move freely and for safety sizes 9-12 months & up have a non slip sole. The ones shown have a non slip suede sole (repurposed from a skirt) but a non slip polyester fabric could be used if preferred, just let me know.
The fabric soles allow little feet to feel surfaces through the shoe, similar to walking barefoot, which has been shown to be important when learning to walk.
